My name Sharon Joy, @miss_sharonjoy, but for the purposes of this platform we’re gonna go with QueenJoy. I am a Harare born and bred native, moved to the US in 2016 for college, and I recently graduated from Yale University with a BA in Statistics & Data Science.
I’ve been wanting to start a blog for a very long time. When I finally decided to get on with it I figured why not go all the way. So I started a YouTube channel and podcast along with the blog, and because I love talking, the podcast will probably be my main outlet.
I’ve been asked what my theme is many times and I kinda struggle a little with that. It’s honestly a little bit of everything. I’m going to be discussing whatever it is that is on my mind, be it current affairs, “philosophy”, books, music, movies, politics, TV shows, education, religion, dating, parenting, travel… literally whatever. My one goal is to stay authentic to myself and to keep this platform as “me” as I can.
As you may note from the first podcast episode, I am loud, I laugh a lot, and I like to think a lot about things and ideals. I care more about the why of mine and others’ believes than I do the what. The authenticity and the why of things are probably the main reason I named this “candid” shar’n.
You can normally expect new episodes on Fridays – subscribe to the YouTube channel to get notifications when there is new video content, look out for the Podcast which is my main outlet, and watch the Blog for new pieces. Also hmu on social media!
I hope you enjoy listening, reading and watching.
